What really sets My Vital Metrics apart is the expertise, experience and qualifications of our team. So much more than just ‘DEXA Technicians’, our team is highly qualified and experienced in their field.<\/p>\n

Every member of the team has at a minimum a degree in sports and exercise science, and many of the team have postgraduate qualifications in Strength and Conditioning, or Nutrition or otherwise.<\/p>\n

This means that in addition to having performed more of these tests than anyone else in the country, each team member has impeccable expertise in their field, and specialist application of their knowledge.<\/p>\n

Further to this, you can choose to book with particular consultants to offer you consistency of experience or else with different ones to get different perspectives.<\/p>\n

Owen has been in the health and fitness industries for over 20 years, doing his training initially as a Sports Therapist in Australia, and adding Personal Training to his repertoire there also.<\/p>\n

He has always had a passion for a scientific approach to exercise and nutrition, and has added a number of industry courses over the years.<\/p>\n

He started My Vital Metrics in 2020 to bring scientific grade measurements and guidance to everyone who can use them to achieve their goals.<\/p>\n

Most recently he has completed a Graduate Diploma in Performance nutrition with the Institute of Performance Nutrition.<\/p>\n

Ali has been a sport and fitness professional since 2011, gaining a wealth of practical experience and supporting qualifications. She has worked with a broad range of clients, from keep fitters to competitive athletes in sports including swimming, tennis and football. She has a strong track record of improving both health and sport performance outcomes.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ali enjoys coaching people to optimise their training and maximise their potential. She believes the data provided from the testing at MVM allows this process to be as specific and efficient as possible.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ali has a BSc in Sport, Fitness and Coaching, is a certified Strength and Conditioning coach with the NSCA and is currently studying for a MSc in Performance Coaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

Personally Ali has been involved in sport from a young age. She represented GB in tennis as a junior and competed in cross country running and swimming at national level. She has boxed competitively in the amateurs for the last 9 years, winning the southern area title, various international box cup medals and earning an England vest.<\/span><\/p>\n

Alicia holds a first-class BSc in Sports Exercise and Health Sciences from the University of Birmingham and has built a strong foundation in evidence-based exercise and health
practices. With 16 years of experience as a gymnast, she has transitioned her expertise into coaching, working with women\u2019s artistic gymnasts competing nationally and training in the junior GB squad. Alicia is also a Level 3 Personal Trainer and a cardiac rehabilitation exercise instructor, broadening her capacity to support individuals through specialised health and fitness programs who have undergone cardiac events.<\/p>\n

Alicia is passionate about empowering clients to achieve their physical potential. She tailors each consult to fit individual goals, using a blend of foundational and science led recommendations to provide a precise and effective training experience, whether for performance enhancement or health improvement.<\/p>\n

From an early age Akash has had had a huge passion for health, sport and performance. This naturally led him to pursue a degree in Sport & Exercise Science as well as an MSc in Strength & Conditioning.<\/p>\n

The majority of Akash’s experience comes from professional sport where he has worked as a Sport Scientist and Strength & Conditioning coach for various football clubs.<\/p>\n

In addition to this, he has deployed his skills in a more clinical environment working with individuals from a range of backgrounds and requirements to improve their health and lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Akash says: My philosophy is based around applying sound scientific principals designed to maximise both health and performance taking into account the needs of the individual and individualising my approach.<\/p>\n

Ben leads the My Vital Metrics Mobile DEXA Unit, managing club communication, bookings and logistics, and delivering scans to clubs and athletes nationwide. Working across a range of sports, Ben has worked with teams at the national level, as well as the winners of every domestic football competition in 2024\/25.<\/div>\n

A graduate of Loughborough University, Ben views DEXA as the gold standard in body composition testing. The DEXA scan provides a holistic view of an athlete\u2019s body composition and how this relates to performance, going beyond fat mass to place emphasis on lean mass and bone density.<\/div>\n

Committed to rigorous, accurate methodology and analysis, Ben also prioritises creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for athletes. When visiting clubs, Ben compiles a comprehensive data report for staff and athletes to receive following scan day, built from the most extensive body composition dataset in the sport.<\/div>\n
