What Do I Get After My Body Scan<\/h2>\n

Once your 3D scan has taken place there are two ways to look at the results. You have a client app for your phone, which allows you to log in and look at the 3D model (like the one here) \u2013 pause, zoom and compare to any previous body map, and gives you some set measurements like waist and hip measurements, and allows you to compare these to any previous scan as well.<\/p>\n

In addition, we will be able to take you through the coach app to allow you to view other measurements, and look at cross-sectional shape and size. Your coach will also be able to go through these with you.<\/p>\n

First you should undress to close-fitting clothing or underwear. Step into the scanner, hold the handles and the scan will begin. It takes about 10 seconds to scan, and then a further minute for the system to create the model.
This is the fastest 3D body scan on the market and provides both a photographic as well as contour map visualisations<\/p>\n

Ideally you should remember what clothing you were wearing and always wear the same to give you the most accurate picture of any changes.<\/p>\n

What is Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis?<\/u><\/p>\n

Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis is a scan which measures how much body water you have. It does this by running small currents (which you cannot feel) through 8 electrodes which we attach to your wrist and hand, and your ankle and foot.\u00a0<\/p>\n

By running a small current at different frequencies through you, and seeing how long it takes the current to get to the other electrodes we are able to estimate the amount of water contained in your body, and where it is, inside or outside the cell.\u00a0<\/p>\n

With this information we are able to do three things:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. estimate overall body composition. Note that this measurement is not as accurate as DEXA, and this scan should usually be done in conjunction with a DEXA Scan, or with a DEXA scan to guide the results.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  2. It is able to quantify changes in Lean mass (from a DEXA Scan) and say whether the change has been because of increased Skeletal Muscle Mass, Intracellular Water, or Extracellular water.\u00a0<\/li>\n
  3. It is able to assess the overall health of your cells. It measures which by seeing how much integrity your cell walls have. If they have high integrity this is a good sign over overall health, if they have poor integrity, this might be a sign of some disfunction.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    You will need to remove socks. We will attach sticky electrode pads to your wrists, hands, ankles and feet. You will lie down on the bed of the DEXA Scanner, and we will place the measuring mat over your legs.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    We will attach the electrodes up and start the measurement which will take up to 30 seconds. We will then detach the electrodes and you can get up.\u00a0<\/p>\n
