Our Services
DEXA Scans (for Body Composition)
The Gold Standard in Body Composition measurements, DEXA will give you the most accurate picture possible of the amount of fat and muscle you have in each section and limb of your body. It will also show fat distribution, visceral fat and bone overall bone density. With it we can estimate your calorie needs to get you to your goals
Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)
The Resting Metabolic Rate Test (Your RMR or sometimes BMR – Basal Metabolic Rate) will give you in precise terms how many calories your body is consuming at rest. Forget the estimates online calculators give you – this will show whether you have a fast or slow metabolism.
3D Scans
A 3D Body Scan brought to you by world leaders in fitness body scanning, BODYGEE, measures you from every angle and gives you a view of progress on the outside. We can look at issues of symmetry and posture, and compare circumferences between scans
FatMax Test
The FatMax test is a test of metabolic efficiency from rest, all the way up to a moderate level of exercise. With the FatMax test you’ll be able to isolate where you are best at burning fat, or if your fat burning is overall impaired. We are then able to advise on interventions to improve your fat burning efforts to help you get lean
VO2Max Testing
A VO2Max test is the ultimate measure of cardiovascular fitness. A high figure means you’ll be able to work out for longer at higher intensities. In addition you’ll find out how efficient you are at different intensities so that you can work out where you need to focus your efforts to get fitter, and go faster.
Functional Movement Assessment
The Functional Movement Assessment will give you an overall assessment of your body’s ability to move well through a range of important movements. It will pick up and precisely measure restrictions and areas of weakness and propose a plan to correct and improve. which you can work on.
DEXA (Bone Density)
The DEXA Bone density test is the industry standard for assessing any disorders or potential future issues with your bones. It is a high resolution scan of the hip and the lumbar spine, and will give you T-scores and z-scores for these, which indicates your risk of fracture overall.
Blood Tests for Cholesterol and Blood Sugar
Our Cholesterol and Blood Glucose (HbA1c) Blood tests will together give you the most important figures for understanding your overall health. They are quick, only take a pinprick amount of blood and you get your results instantly. We combine these with DEXA or RMR to give you dietary and exercise interventions to get healthier.
What is Body Composition?
Body composition describes what your body is made of. Sure, you may be 80kg but what is that? How much of it is bone? How much of it is muscle, or ‘lean mass’, and how much of it is fat? You won’t know until you get a body composition assessment.
What can fitness testing offer me?
Advanced fitness testing is a deep dive into how your body is functioning. Without accurate data, it can be hard to make meaningful change.
Body composition assessments, such as a DEXA scan, offer detailed body composition data, allowing you to track changes in body fat, lean muscle, or visceral fat over time.
Unlike BMI, which is a rudimentary measure of health based on your weight divided by your height squared, body composition testing tells your exactly what your body is made up of. You might have a high BMI, but a very low body fat percentage. Mistakenly, in this case, your fitness goal might be to burn fat. Alternatively, you might have a low or normal BMI but have hidden ‘visceral fat’ around your organs which might put you at a greater risk of heart disease. These insights can only be determined from a DEXA scan.

Benefits of Body Composition Assessment
A body Composition assessment will tell you how much fat, muscle, and bone you have, but it will also tell you a great deal more than that. It also covers where you tend to store most of your fat, it will tell you how much visceral fat you have, and whether your levels of visceral fat are dangerous to your health.
It will also look at your muscular balance, and tell you if you are under-developed on one side, which might put you at risk of injury.
With all this data in hand, we will discuss your goals, helping you to set and achieve goals that are more tailored to you and your unique body.
